Mais um! / Another one!

       Meti o pé no freio em quase tudo o que estava fazendo (inclusive no blog), mas a necessidade de tricotar voltou e eu terminei algumas coisas e vim mostar pra vocês.

     I hit the brakes hard on almost everything I was doing (blog included), but the need to knit came back, so I finished a few things and came here to show them to you.

     Comecei a fiar há alguns dias e este é o primeiro novelo que terminei. 
     I started to spin a few days ago, and this is the first skein I got to actually do.

     Uma manta que vou dar de presente. A receita é da Elizabeth Zimmerman. Ao invés de fazer em quatro partes, como manda a receita, fui levantando pontos, pq odeio costurar. Ao redor fiz um rabo-de-gato com 4 pontos.

     A baby blanket which I give to a friend. The pattern is from one of Elizabeth Zimmerman’s books. Instead of knitting 4 parts, like the pattern suggests, I picked up stitches as I went, because I hate to sew.      On the borders, I knit a 4 stitches i-cord.

     Pra terminar, uma amiga muito querida me mandou um novelo de Hand Maiden Sea Silk.  Fiquei tão impressionada com o presente, e principalmente com o carinho, que inicialmente tive medo de tricotar e acabar estragando a linha.  Finalmente tomei coragem e fiz isso:     É uma criação minha e por enquanto estou disponibilizando a receita somente em inglês.  Se alguém tiver interesse, faço uma versão em português.

     To end this post, I’d like to show you this: I got the yarn (Hand Maiden Sea Silk) as a gift from a dear friend. At first I was so touched by her gesture, I was afraid to knit with it and ruin the yarn. I finally got over it and designed Gail as a thank you to her. Now, even though we live far apart from each other, I’ll be able to feel her hugs any time I need them.
