O que NÃO aconteceu:
- terminar um último projeto pra enviar pra minha parceira na Monkey Socks e colocar a caixa no correio na segunda,
- diagramar a meia pra Harvest Sock Swap,
- adiantar um pouco minha troca de natal.
Ao invés disso, levamos um susto danado na sexta, passamos o sábado realizando pequenas tarefas pra família e com a esperança que tudo não passava de um pesadelo e a gente ir acordar e encontrar tudo bem.
What DID NOT happen:
- finish the last project to send to my Monkey Socks Swap partner e post the parcel,
- diagram the sock for the Harvest Sock Swap,
- work a little bit on my Christmas swap.
Instead we had a big scare on Friday, spent the Saturday on errants for the family and all the while with the hope it was all a bad dream and we’d wake up to find everything ok.
Ontem, finalmente, consegui diagramar a meia. Saquei as agulhas e comecei a tricotar – receita meio estranha, teria que fazer algumas adaptações, já que o número de pontos nas agulha era irregular, mas tudo bem. Depois de umas 15 carreiras, descobri que tinha feito as contas errado…Fazer o que? Desmanchei e comecei novamente. Lá pela quinta carreira descobri que uma das agulhas tinha um número de pontos errado…Arrrrrrrrg!
Na terceira tentativa, finalmente deu certo! Estou na segunda repetição do desenho.
Yesterday, finally, I managed to diagram the sock. Took the needles and began to knit – odd pattern, I’d have to tweak it somehow since the number of stitches on each needle was different. After some 15 rows I realized I could do it with the same number of stitches on each needle…I had the math all wrong. So, I frogged and started again. 5 rows and what do I see? One needle has one less stitch than the rest…Arrrrg!
On my third try it finally worked out! I’m beginning the second repeat of the design.

Tenho lido muitos blogs que advogam fidelidade ao trabalho em andamento por um curto período. A maioria recomenda tricotar um projeto por dois dias, trabalhar em um outro pelo mesmo período e assim por diante.
Pra mim não funcionou muito bem. O que estou fazendo é designar horários diferentes para os inúmeros projetos. Tricoto durante o dia usando lã escura (e/ou lãs finas) e à noite trabalho nos projetos mais fáceis. Dedico uma ou duas horas pra cada um dos trabalhos e desta maneira estou avançando em duas meias, duas bolsas, um chale e uma manta.
I’ve been reading a lot of blogs tha advocate loyalty to your WIP for a short period of time. Most of them recomend to knit a project for two days and then move one to another one.
It doesn’t work for me, though. Instead, I’m assigning different hours to my many projects. During the day I work with darker yarns (and/or thin ones) and in the evenings I knit the easy ones. I usually work on each one for an hour or two and that way I’m (slowly) working my way through two socks, two bags, a wrap and an afgan.
