Tentando algo novo / Trying something new

     Ontem à tarde recebi a lã de alpaca que estava esperando.  Depois de alguma pesquisa na rede, tomei coragem e comecei a tingir a dita cuja.
     Pensei que os primeiros lotes não iriam sair legais, iriam desbotar, seriam um desastre etc..  Eu estava errada.
     Last afternoon I recieved the alpaca yarn I was waiting for.  After a little search on the internet, I gathered some courage e started to dye it.
     I thought that the first lots wouldn’t come out right, would bleed and fade, turn into a disaster etc..  I was wrong.

     Eu segui as instruções deste link aqui, mas fiz algumas (muitas) modificações.  Algumas observações:
- Coloquei o dobro de corante indicado por este site.  Usei corante alimentício líquido (24 gotas de azul e 36 gotas de vermelho)
- No primeiro lote, adicionei vinho tinto.  Não notei diferença na cor, mas na hora de lavar a lã, a água saiu limpa mais rápido.  O tanino no vinho provavelmente ajudou a fixar a cor.
     I followed the instructions given here, but did a few (lots of) mods.  Some notes:
- I used twice as much dye as the instructions of this page.  I used liquid food dye (24 drops of blue and 36 of red)
- On the first lot, I added red wine.  The color came out just the same, but when washing that skein, the water turned clear faster.  The tanin might have helped to fix the dye.
